Internet disconnects?

For the past month I have been having problems with my internet. My internet use to run without problems for two years. Now I disconnect from the internet about every 20 minutes. The disconnect lasts around 3 minutes. I have connected a different computer to the same router and ethernet cable and the computer did NOT disconnect from the internet.

Because my other computer did not disconnect from the internet I don't think the problem is my router, ethernet cable, filters or line noise.

I have talked to my ISP and they say there is no problem with my internet connnection.

I'm not sure if my computer has a virus/spyware. I have scanned my computer with the latest AVG Free and it found no threats.

I think I have changed some of my internet settings on my computer which is causing the disconnects.

If you have talked to your ISP, I am guessing you they have missed something. But if all of these steps I am to give you were already done and you are still receiving the same problem, I would be advicing you to call your computer manufacturer or visit a local technician already.

Try to run first a modem diagnostics on your modem. To do that, open modem options by opening control panel%26gt; phone and modem options. Make sure you just turned your computer on before doing this.
