Ad-Aware Program?

My friend was telling me about a program called "Ad-Aware" for my home computer. It is supposed to clean-up the system and scan for spyware from what I gather. She said she got a free trial online. Is this program safe or does it actually add more spyware?

It's good, one of the best ones available. There's actually a completely free version meaning no trial.
haha it adds apyware and makes your computer think! it is clean when in fact it downloads viruses, get avg free edition spyware and anti virus.....
It's good. I've used it, but I don't use it anymore because it doesn't work with the 64 bit version of Windows Vista. I would also look into getting spybot, it works well also. Also, if you're looking for free, decent antivirus protection, look into getting the free edition of AVG.

I use both. I use Ad-Aware (anti-spyware) as well as AVG free (anti-virus). My computer is 2003 (when husband got sent overseas the FIRST time) I've used it for years. What does that tell YOU?
If you are talking about Lavasoft Ad-Aware, this program will not cause any problems for you and will not give you any spyware problems.
