I can tell you right now that I was using AVG..and they were not protecting me! I then ran a free pc scan that I am offering to you right now....when I ran this scan it found over 80 hackers on my pc that AVG did not pick up! Not only now am I protected from hackers, but I have the same protection as Homeland Security, NASA, DOW Jones.....Fortune 500 Companies....just for starters. This is Spyware, Adware, VIrus, Firewall, Patch management.....TOTALLY hassle free....FREE tech support...and $25,000 Identity theft insurance....all for less than 50 cents a day......

run the free scan and GET protected....

Go to the lavasoft site and download Ad-Aware for adware removal.

Trend Micro Pc-cillin has a free virus scan on their site and Spybot is another site you might want to try.

Good Luck
you need to get a windowsdefender from window update and scan your computer it works just as good as nortons ant-virus i have both.
As long as you use Microsoft products you're going to have that stuff. So you could run the standards, Spybot Search and Destroy (from safer-networking.org) and Adaware (from Lavasoftusa.com) every time you go online. Or you could just switch to an operating system that doesn't get viruses! There has never been a successful Linux virus in the wild. Lots of "proof of concept" false alarms, zero real viruses. Take a look at Ubuntu.com or Knoppix.net. These are systems you can use without installing anything. Just burn the CD and reboot and you're up. Reboot again and your Microsoft system is right where you left it. Or take a look at the top ten at Distrowatch.com.
Well, if you already DO have adware and spyware on your PC, I think your best bet would be to back up your data and reload the operating system. So when you do that, here's how to protect your PC in the future.
